(BLOEMWATER MAIN WATER PIPELINE)

Repair work is still ongoing on the Bloemwater main water pipeline burst in Bloemfontein. Work that was supposed to be done last night is still continuing as a result of technical problems encountered by engineers on site. A delay was caused due to retrofit of new pipe fittings.
The estimated time of completion is 24 hrs.

Water tankers have been allocated as follows to the affected areas:

• Pellesier: Engine garage, OK and Checkers
• Langenhoven Park: KFC
• Phelindaba: MUCCP
• Namibia: ZCC
• Ipopeng: Kopanong Police Station
• Freedom Square and Turflaagte: Toka Primary School
• Rocklands: Shoprite
• Ward 45: Tankers are rotating around the ward.

The city calls upon residents of Mangaung to continue using water sparingly and cautiously in line with the water restrictions as implemented by council. The councillors will also be informed of developments of the situation.
